Well, it's been really fun, but I guess this is goodbye. I'm going to be posting exclusively on my livejournal (www.livejournal.com/~darkamdusias)  from now on. It's not that I still don't love the three of you that still keep checking my xanga, praying for updates. It's just that I'm far too lazy to crosspost. I'll still be checking xanga to see if you guys update, and I might even comment! That's going to be about it, though. This is going to be the last entry this journal will ever see.

Ah. So many memories. I'm going to miss this place.

...

I'd figured that I'd have more to say, but I guess I'm not really too good with farewells. Have fun, and try not to miss me too much (Or, you could all just...*gasp*...get livejournals!). Sayonara!

YOU...YOU...BROKE MY STATE!
My Winter Break had been amazing until the 3rd. As soon as the 4th rolled around, it became something more. Lauren and Jackie came to visit me. I haven't seen these two since I went back home to New Jersey for prom waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2003. I knew that seeing those two again would be incredibly fun, but I the six days that they were here are something that I'm going to forget anytime soon.

The drive to the airport was surprisingly pleasant. I'd expected meteors to fall from the sky, or muffin loving pygmies to carjack me (or more realistically the chance that I'd get lost), but things went pleasantly. The wait at the airport was long, but not as bad as it could have been. I had Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories with me. I didn't get very far, though. I got repeatedly owned by Axel (well, twice-ish, maybe), and I was far too excited to focus on the game, so I decided to sit and wait instead. When the flight didn't arrive on the scheduled time, I decided to fall asleep. It failed. Mostly. The best I could do was enter a six minute long semi-trancelike state that had me convinced that my feet were in actuality, quarters.

When Lauren and Jackie finally arrived, we went home and played a bit of DDR. There, I realized that my pads were broken beyond the point of repair. It kept throwing fish at bunnies. Oh, and didn't register about 40% of the arrows in any given song correctly. Blah. I really need to invest in Cobalt Fluxes. It's a pity that I don't have ~$650 lying around. I'm done with softpads, though. They only last about a year at the most (maybe less, given how frequently I play), so they're not economically sound. Oi. Why does everything I like have to be so expensive?!?

-_-;

A short while after we played DDR, we decided that we wanted to eat. Now this would have been well and good, but there was one problem: We were facing hurricane like rains. That wouldn't have been so bad if the rain hadn't turned into a vicious hail that fell with the intensity of an exploding grenade. By this point, I was firmly convinced that these two had broken my beloved, obnoxiously hot, taupe-filled, and otherwise boring state.

Since I hadn't the slightest intention of driving in that mess, we decided that we were going to get pizza. This proved proved problematic, since every pizza place I called put me on hold and exposed me to LOTS of boring commercials or didn't want to deliver to us.

Thankfully, the hail went back to crazy rain after a few crazy call attempts. Since we weren't getting any food from the pizza places, I decided that it'd be easier to go look for food. I figured that Lauren and Jackie were done breaking Arizona by this point, but boy, was I wrong. Five minutes after I left the house, Dad called, telling me that a tornado warning had just been issued for the area. I'm not sure how the two of them did this. They most certainly have talent at breaking things, though.

"Whatever. Give me a dagger. Oh, and while you're at it, I think I'll eat your hands. While I'm on your head."
The next day, we decided that we were going to go to the Wildlife World Zoo. I'd only been there once before, but I didn't remember having to drive through a MASSIVE lake of murky, extremely dirty water go get there. You see, the rains and crazy hail from the day before had flooded a low-lying section of the road like crazy, so The Blashmobile was up to its door handles in murky water. That wasn't fun at all.

When we finally got to the zoo, I was incredibly amused by the fact that Lauren managed to get into the zoo at the kid's price. Lauren might be short, but she's looks older than twelve. She doesn't quite pull off looking like she's nineteen, but...ai-ya. I'm moving on.

The first animal that really got our attention was a talking parrot thingy. It kept making sounds that made it seem like it was saying "Whatever" and "Give me a dagger" (among other things) over and over again. Quite fun. We also decided that the emu in that zoo are evil. They had red eyes. And they liked stalking us. Creepiness.

We had the most fun at the petting zoo. There, we got to pet goats and deer and jab at strange chickens that had very hobbit-esque feet (This is why we later named these chickens "Hobbit Chickens"). The goats there seemed eternally hungry. They constantly went after Lauren's hands (she'd just eaten cheesy Pringles prior to entering the petting zoo) and hair, Jackie's backpack, and my shoelaces. Hehe. Much fun.

Shortly after we left the petting zoo, we wandered near the parrot feeding station. Since the parrots were being fed at the time, we decided to go in, look around, and maybe feed a parrot or two. I watched for the first few minutes, but eventually started feeding the parrots. Kinda. Somewhere in that giant mess of feathers and flesh, and parrot with a giant chunk of apple in its beak ended up on my head. Try as we did, the parrot couldn't be dislodged. It seemed perfectly content to finish its meal in my hair, and it wasn't going to be forced to leave under any circumstances. By the time the parrot was finally done, my hair was sticky with applesauce. Very amusing stuff.

Tag! You're it! Wait...WHAT?!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN I ACCIDENTALLY TAGGED A CACTUS?!?
On Thursday, we decided to visit the Botanical Gardens right outside Tempe before heading to the T.H.E.M. meeting. It was fun. Memorable even. While all the plants were certainly very nice to look at (especially the ungodly tall cacti), there's definitely something to be said for playing tag in a large, poorly lit (chalk this up to the pretty, yet very impractical petal-esque streetlights), park.

The bras at Target make my boobs feel unloved. That, and T.H.E.M. has two new informal members!
Once we left the park, we headed to The Conspiracy. We took the wrong exit from the park, and got ever so slightly lost, so we ended up at The Conspiracy after everyone had already left for dinner. Not wanting to wait at The Conspiracy the whole time, we decided to drive around in search of chocolate. We eventually stopped at a Target. After buying a bit of chocolate, Lauren and Jackie dragged me to the store's clothing section. There, they made me try on all sorts of thing that even I normally wouldn't wear. It was amusing.

After spending more time at Target than we should have, we finally decided to return to The Conspiracy (after a brief stop at Wendy's). I can't say much about the meeting from my side, since it was the typical, fun, meeting for me. On the other hand though, Lauren and Jackie finally got to see the club that I talked so much about. They even got poked to death by peoples, so I've decided that they've been unofficially been inducted into the club as a result. Hehehe.

There are dogs who love me, and then there are those dogs who LOVE me. Freaky Fridays, anyone?
After an interesting trip to the mall filled with antics not unlike those at Target, we went off to Jenny's house. There, I got to play a bit of Soul Calibur II and a futuristic version of Risk. I sucked at both. Well, at the very least, I'm happy that I bloodied many of Fly's troops when he tried to take Africa from me.

XD

At about 9:00, we left for Brien's birthday party. That was a LOT of fun. I got to play DDR on pads that weren't broken, and I got to see people I hadn't seen in ages. It was lots of fun! The night didn't go without its fair share of strangeness, though.

Brien's dog liked me. He REALLY liked me. And not in the same way that sweethearts like Mercedes or Tinker like everyone. He would not stop stalking or licking me. That and he absolutely refused to let go of my leg no matter what. I was scared. Oh, so very scared.

Vampire Pomeranians are cute. That is, until they do that whole changing into a vampire thing.
I watced Blade Trilogy with Lauren, Jackie, and my sister on Saturday night. The movie was hilarious. Some of it was intentional, but most of it obviously wasn't. Everything from the cheesy writing to the half-arsed attempt at a story kept me smirking through the length of the feature. Hehe.

Notable thingies that refuse to be classified!
I'm surprised that Lauren, Jackie, and I aren't banned from Wendy's across the world. The three of us are normally pretty well behaved in restaurants (Well, okay, Lauren and Jackie are) when we're on our own. Together however, we're a mealstrom of pure, shoe stealing, bridge destroying, hair assalting (No, I didn't just misspell "assaulting". We've labelled this certain activity "assalting" because it uh, involves salt), evil. Much fun.

On a more disturbing note, I haven't been able to eat lately. It all started at the dinner after Brien's party (I think). I'm normally able to put away large amounts of food with very little effort. That night, I wasn't able to finish a measly four piece chicken strip appetizer. The problem continues to dog me. I'm not sure why. Hm. I shall dwell on it later. I'm moving on.

Goodbyes aren't forever, right? Right?
After one last (and far more mellow) meal at Wendy's and a fun viewing of Wasabi, I dropped Lauren and Jackie off at the airport. Their flight's departure had been bumped up, so that gave very little time to cause mischief before the two of them left. It made me sad to see them go. I'd gotten used used to having the two of them around all the time. Life is going to be kinda boring until school starts again. I really, really, miss those two already. Meep.

Christmas came and went. Compared to the action-packed days that came before it, it was somewhat bland. I didn't mind, though. It was exactly what I wanted. It was nice and relaxing. That, and people in the house were actually civil to each other. That, and there were gifts! Now, I didn't get very much in the way of gifts, but eh. I'll take what I can get.

Behold! The list of gifts I have recieved!

1. A sock with $10 worth of DDR tokens in it - Dave.
2. Wheel of Time, Books I-III - (Darkest) Nick.
3. A bag of delicious chocolate - Random guests at my house.
4. $100 - Mom (I'm still waiting on this).
5. A Christmas stocking full of random stuff - Peoples from work.
6. 40 GB iPod - Artemis (I'd have been more thrilled about this if she didn't use my money to buy it.)!

...Hm. Wow. Um. That's about it. I figured that there'd be more. They're all high quality gifts, so I'd much rather prefer these to large quantities of mediocre gifts. Good stuff!

;-P

Incidentally today is New Year's Day. Well, kinda. It's still New Year's day in Arizona for another ninety minutes. Cheers! Today was nice. I spent most of yesterday at the T.H.E.M. party. It was a lot of fun, just like every other T.H.E.M. thingy.

I wish I'd gotten the chance to stop by at ASU or Fiddlesticks to play a bit of DDR before the parties. Both my Red Octanes are dead. That makes me a sad panda.

=\

Now I need to go out and save up for new pads. That, or I could use this as an opportunity to finally pick up IIDX. Hmm...

At any rate, I'm done yapping! Lauren and Jackie will we here on Tuesday! Much happiness!

=D
